Williams is described as coming 'from the four bloody muddy winds school of poetry complete with liver, headache and general seediness, churning a bulk of words and scribbling madly in his reporter's notebook.' He wrote this symbolic tour - de - force after being evacuated from Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War. His stories and poems have been broadcast by the BBCand published in Stand, Tambimuttu's London/New York, Poetry Wales, the Anglo-Welsh Review and Planet. He is an elected member of Academi Cymraeg for his 'Contribution to the Literatures of Wales.'
