Philip O'Connor (once notorious as The Man Who Said Boo to TSEliot) described himself 'as a sort of spy upon the world'. In this engaging journal, he rambles through the worlds of culture, civitas and the conveniences of modern life with erudite observations and an eye for bewildering incongruities. Dorothy Parker remarked of his writing, 'Philip O'Connor, always outside of society, saw into it with blinding clearness.' This journal covers the period January 1994 - August 1995. He died in 1998 aged 81.
